FAQ

Visitor management questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before you run myvisitors.app at your front desk — apps, hardware, hosting, pricing, and security.

Do visitors need to install an app to check in?

No. myvisitors.app is a contactless visitor management system — visitors scan a QR code and check in from their own phone's browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create.

Do I need any reception hardware or a kiosk?

No kiosks, tablets, or scanners are required. A printed QR code at your reception desk is enough. Security can optionally scan visitor passes from any phone.

Is myvisitors.app self-hosted or cloud-based?

It is self-hosted on your own infrastructure — on-premise servers or your cloud account — so your visitor data never leaves systems you control.

How is myvisitors.app priced?

One flat annual licence — never per user, per seat, per branch, or per visitor. Because it runs on your own infrastructure, there is no cap on office branches, visitors, or staff.

How does the host get notified when a visitor arrives?

Instantly by email, with one-tap approve or decline — no login required. Hosts can also approve from the dashboard, and the visitor's badge status updates the moment they act.

Can visitors check themselves out?

Yes — plus front-desk one-click check-out and automatic check-out past a set maximum visit duration, so your on-site occupancy count stays accurate.

Can I run multiple offices or branches?

Yes. Manage unlimited locations from a single dashboard, each with its own reception QR and location-scoped, role-based access.

Can I use my own logo and branding?

Yes. Your logo and company name appear on the visitor badge, the login screen, and the visitor pages, and notification email templates are editable.

Where does my employee / host directory come from?

Add hosts manually, import from CSV or Excel, or sync your directory from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 (Entra ID), with SSO.

Is visitor data secure?

Traffic runs over HTTPS, access is role-based and location-scoped, host approval links are single-use, passes are time-bound, and visitor selfies are cleaned up automatically. See the Security page for details.

What happens to an expired or declined visitor pass?

It is clearly marked “NOT VALID” and shows no scannable QR, so it cannot be reused for entry.

How long does setup take?

Usually an afternoon — set up your locations, print each reception QR, add or sync your hosts, and you are live.

Give your front desk a serious upgrade.
